I'm American - half of my family are of Scottish descent, and, although they've lived in the Southern United States for a few hundred years now - the attitude in your article made me laugh out loud in enjoyment. The personality traits you described have made it through the generations intact, I can tell you. Right on down to me.

I was in Scotland a few summers ago - my husband is Welsh and a golfer - so we spent wonderful time there - he played at Carnoustie, we visited St. Andrews, and stayed at the Cambo Estate, looked over their course as well.

I find it insulting even as a descendant of the Scots, that the Donald was brazen and rude enough to think he could trump the courses already there. What a schmo.

Very good article, made me laugh. Interesting that The Donald has already built The World’s Greatest Golf Course elsewhere. So that would mean that each time he builds The World’s Greatest Golf Course it will relegate the previous course to The World’s Second Greatest etc. And what do you mean you don’t have a link? Eejit, it’s here: http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB121323855507966955.html
