My TRASHIONISTA debut

TRASHIONISTA - one of the big websites for readers of romantic fiction.

I was eager to get in there.

Obviously I wasn’t going to be able to get them to read The Well-Tempered Clavier.

Least of all get a review on the site.

However … I did have one trick up my sleeve: The Guest Blog!

How I am coming to love the Guest Blog. It’s not quite the same as writing for my own little blog, however I do suddenly get to write for thousands of people. (Not that I’m not grateful to my regulars. In fact I think I ought to name ‘em - the Clavier Hall of Fame: Juliet, Toad, Josie and Anna. The King of Clavier salutes you!)

Anyway - a guest blog is a bit like writing for a newspaper. You’ve got loads of people looking at your stuff. (Except you don’t get paid.)

True, you do have to pull your punches a bit. I mean in this blog, I can say what I like about Idle Tom, The Killer and the Doughty Battle-Axe. But in a guest blog, you’ve generally got to be tidier. Neater. As if you’re wearing your Sunday best.

I spent ages - ages - thinking about what to serve up to Trashionista. And then approximately 30 seconds later, I decided to go on what a know best - the dearth of male romantic fiction writers.

It’s true that there are a few big male names out there in the romantic world like Hornby and Parsons - but nevertheless, they are in an absolutely tiny minority compared to the women authors.

Check out the Trashionista link here. But I’m not sure if it was quite provocative enough to get asked back …

Hey, Tough Guy - good to see you on such a fluffy, pink site!

I don’t honestly think anyone would ever have been convinced by an authorial sex-change.

But I do have one *stupendously brilliant* idea for making the book more appealing to potential readers. I can’t imagine why nobody’s thought of it before . . .

Well done the guest blogging front Mina!
